Sports Fencing Systems
Ball Catch Fencing & Ball Stop Netting
Ball stop fencing or ball catch netting is designed to retain balls within a sports facility, and is typically positioned behind goal areas and can be stand-alone or attached above a host fence. Our netting systems are specially designed for heights up to 12 metres. Net apertures range from 28 mm (golf) to 125 mm (football and rugby) depending upon the sport and application. Netting is typically manufactured from black knotted UV-resistant polypropylene. For further information, see below. |
Pitch Dividing NetsDividing nets enable a full size sports pitch to be sub-divided into smaller individual areas that can either be used for multi-instances of the same sport, e.g. 5-a-side, or for simultaneous use for different sports. Nets are fully retractable when not in use enabling full pitch play. |

Roof Netting SystemsIn addition to perimeter and shared inner fences, we supply netted roofs to contain the balls within the facility, and further can provide integral corner posts for mounting flood lighting. |

Twin Wire 200 x 50 Panel Fencing SystemsDescription: a robust modular panel system available in heights up to 8 metres increasingly popular as a secure and sturdy surround to new artificial turf pitches catering for Hockey, Football and Rugby, popular with schools and sports facilities. Twin Wire typically uses 6 mm vertical wires welded between a pair of twin 8 mm horizontal wires, although a more lightweight panel is available using 5 mm verticals and 6 mm horizontals. |
Twin Wire Rebound (66 x 50) Panel Fencing SystemsTwin Wire Rebound Panel fencing is manufactured exactly as Twin Wire above although includes an additional 12 pairs of 8mm horizontal reinforcing wires on the lower 1.2 metres of panel height - making a dense 66 x 50 mm rebound surface for additional panel protection.

358 Rebound Mesh"358" mesh gets its name from its compostion: 3 inch by 1/2 inch by 8 gauge mesh (75 x 12.5 x 4 mm metric). Its dense mesh structure is ideal for rebound sports or those where there is a high amount of ball impact. Typically the 358 mesh is used on the lower 1.2 metres of fenc eheight and is surmounted by less dense 50 x 50 weldmesh. The 358 mesh is usually supported by 2 horizontal rails, either in timber or steel. |
50 x 50 Weldmesh50 x 50 Weldmesh is a popular mesh to surround a sports facility, being competitively priced. It is available in a wide range of heights up to 8 metres (although typically 3 metres for sports). mesh can be 3 mm diameter if galvanised only, or 3.55 mm diameter if covered by a green or black plastic coating. Weldmesh fencing comes on a tightly coiled roll and is decoiled during installation. The mesh roll is supported by a series of high-tensile tightly-strained horizontal linewires using stainless steel fencing clips. |

Sport Rebound Boards (RIGA/WISA)As an alternative to mesh rebound systems, e.g. Twin Wire and 358 above, a range of special plywood sports rebound panels are available. These are specially manufactured for the industry and have a smooth dark green or brown phenolic face and are triple edge sealed. The ply laminates are graded and glued so as to be water and boil proof (they are literally tested by being bolied in water). Be wary of cheap alternatives such as simple marine ply which will not last under external conditions with repeated ball impact. |
Kick BoardsKickboards are attached to the bottom of sports fencing systems to protect the base of the fence from damage caused by repeated ball impact. Without this protection welds can break and wires bend, leading to sharp spikes pointing in towards the pitch. These protrusions within a fast-paced sporting environment are a health and safety nightmare. Typically 200 x 50 mm vacuum pressure treated sawn timber will significantly improve the life of the host fence. |
5-a-Side CentresAlphaFence can supply fences surrounding a singlesports pitch, or even an entire 5-a-Side complex containing perhaps as many as a dozen pitches side by side. Fences for these sites will usually include an integral 'rebound' section at the base of the fence, e.g. Twin Wire Rebound, 358, or Sports Rebound Boards (see above). |
Spectator RailingOften a sports pitch will include a tarmac spectator area within the facility, where visitors and supporters can watch the play naturally rather than through a perimeter fence. For these instances AlphaFence provides a special low Spectator Railing fence system with mesh/infil (to match the perimeter fencing) and a tubular 'lean' rail on top. |
Combination Drag Mat & BrushSynthetic turf pitches need regular brushing as the sand/rubber infil otherwise becomes distributed unevenly in areas of intense play, e.g. in front of goals, corners and centre. AlphaFence has developed a Combination Drag Mat & Brush, towable by a mini tractor or quad, specifically for this purpose. A galvanised steel triangular frame is clad on one side with special nylon brushes and with dense synthetic carpet on the other, allowing it to be used for coarse and fine distribution. |
Heavy Duty Boot Brushes & Decontamination UnitsTo compliment our range of sports fencing systems and maintenance equipment, AlphaFence also makes heavy duty boot brushes and decontamination units to encourage facility users to clean their boots before entering the facility. Our heavy duty fully welded frames stand up to the toughest treatment, and our dense brushes outlast those on many competitor's offerings. |
Sports & Play EquipmentWe will also provide a range of complimentary sport and play equipment, including combination goal and basketball units, benches, climbing frames and equipment. |

Team Shelters & Spectator BuildingsCustom built to suit the application in terms of length and width and cladding, AlphaFence produces a range of Team Shelters and Spectator Buildings. Typically each has a home, away and umpire compartment with timber bench seating. The buildings are roofed and clad on the back and sides with overlapping timber verticals. |
